LAFCo Procedures
Since it was founded in 1971, CALAFCO has evolved from a forum for sharing of experiences and information into an organization providing a wide range of resources and support services to its members.
Today, CALAFCO provides member LAFCOs with a statewide structure for education and training, policy and legislative advocacy, and a means to address regional and statewide issues. CALAFCO endeavors to create a comprehensive repository of data and information resources relevant to the LAFCOs.
Some of these information resources include documents relating to Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Act of 2000, information on court decisions and legal opinions relating to CKH Act, research works and white papers on various subjects, references on LAFCO sphere of influence, city incorporation and annexations, municipal service reviews and many others.
